Modern Slavery Statement
Lambeth Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Lambeth Movers has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Lambeth Movers is committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity, and to ensuring that the rights and dignity of every person connected to our services are respected and protected.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Lambeth Movers adopts a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, child labour, deceptive recruitment, and exploitation of vulnerable workers. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, or organisation involved in such practices.
This commitment applies to all aspects of our business, including our directly employed staff, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We expect everyone who works with or on behalf of Lambeth Movers to share our stance, uphold high labour standards, and comply with applicable laws and regulations relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We regularly assess the areas of our business and supply chain that may be exposed to a higher risk of modern slavery, including manual handling services, subcontracted transport, and sourcing of equipment and materials. Our due diligence procedures are designed to identify, prevent, and mitigate these risks.
Before entering into new relationships, we consider the supplier’s location, the type of services or products being provided, and the labour practices typically associated with that sector. Where concerns are identified, we may seek further information, require corrective actions, or decide not to proceed with the relationship.
Supplier Standards and Audits
All suppliers and subcontractors engaged by Lambeth Movers are expected to comply with our ethical standards and to operate in line with this Modern Slavery Statement. We require suppliers, where appropriate, to confirm that they prohibit forced labour, verify worker ages, pay at least the applicable minimum wage, provide safe working conditions, and respect workers’ freedom of movement.
We conduct proportionate audits and checks on selected suppliers, focusing on higher-risk categories. These audits may include reviewing documentation relating to recruitment practices, working hours, pay records, and health and safety procedures, as well as speaking to management about their own supply chains. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree an action plan and timescales. If issues are not adequately addressed, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Lambeth Movers encourages anyone with concerns about modern slavery or unethical behaviour connected to our business to report them without fear of retaliation. Concerns may be raised by employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers, or members of the public through our established internal reporting routes or through management.
We treat all reports seriously and, where appropriate, conduct prompt and confidential investigations. We are committed to protecting those who raise concerns in good faith and to taking appropriate remedial action if modern slavery or related abuses are identified.
Training and Awareness
Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, operations, and supplier management, receive training and guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery and on the steps to take if concerns arise. We promote awareness of this Statement and our expectations through internal communications and onboarding processes for new employees.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with senior management at Lambeth Movers. They are tasked with reviewing risk assessments, monitoring the effectiveness of our controls, and approving any significant changes to our policies or procedures.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months, or more frequently if required due to changes in legislation, business operations, or emerging risks. As part of the annual review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our supplier audits, the adequacy of our reporting channels, and the implementation of our zero-tolerance policy. Where opportunities for improvement are identified, we update our practices to strengthen our response and further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
